The Importance of Community Support

Abergele Stroke Club is run for the benefit of local stroke survivors and their carers, many of whom rely on us not only for rehabilitation activities, but also for friendship, confidence, and a sense of belonging. As a small, community-based organisation, we depend heavily on the support of local councils, groups, and residents to continue operating.

Costs such as transport, insurance, venue hire, and equipment are ongoing, and without external funding and community backing, it would be extremely difficult to maintain the services our members rely on week after week. Our minibus, in particular, is a lifeline for many members, enabling them to attend sessions safely and remain active within the community.

Support from organisations like Abergele Town Council helps ensure that the club can continue to provide a welcoming, safe, and supportive environment for stroke survivors in our area. It also sends a powerful message to our members that they are valued and supported by the wider community.

We are incredibly grateful for all the support we receive, which allows Abergele Stroke Club to remain a vital and sustainable resource for those affected by stroke in our town.

Abergele Stroke Club would like to extend our sincere thanks to Abergele Town Council for awarding us a £1,000 community grant.

This generous support will be used to help cover the upkeep, insurance, and ongoing maintenance of our club minibus, which plays a vital role in the life of our group. The minibus enables our members to attend weekly sessions, social activities, and outings safely and comfortably, many of whom would otherwise struggle to travel independently.

Reliable transport is essential in helping us reduce isolation, promote independence, and ensure our members can continue to enjoy the friendship, support, and rehabilitation activities that the club provides.

We are extremely grateful to Abergele Town Council for recognising the value of our work and for their continued support of local community groups. This funding will make a real and lasting difference to our members.
